What is the difference between a unidirectional and a bidirectional gate valve?

The unidirectional one is designed for operating pressure on only one side of the gate — it is cheaper. Bidirectional holds pressure on both sides and is universal for reverse flows.

Why do I need a bottom collector?

The lower collector collects sediment and solid particles that would otherwise interfere with the complete closure of the knife, which is critical for media with a high content of suspensions (pulp, sludge).

Is it possible to install a slide valve on abrasive media?

Yes, this is one of the main applications — the stainless steel knife and the wear-resistant rubber seal are designed for abrasive wear, unlike wedge gate valves.
