How does a quarter-turn electric drive differ from a multi-turn one?

The quarter-turn rotates the output shaft by only 90° and is used on valves and ball valves where the shut-off valve rotates. The rotary valve makes many revolutions of the shaft, which is necessary for valves and valves with a threaded rod that moves the valve forward.

How to choose between the types "M", "B" and "C"?
