The PMS 31.7 steel floodlight mast is a vertical metal structure with a height of 31.7 m, designed to illuminate large open areas. Floodlights are mounted on an upper platform equipped with a fence; lifting for maintenance and replacement of lamps is done by a ladder along the trunk.
The height depends on the size of the site and the required illumination. The steel structure is noticeably lighter than its reinforced concrete counterpart of the same height, easier to transport and install, and with an anti-corrosion coating it has been serving for decades without metal maintenance.

The height depends on the size of the site and the required illumination: the larger the area and the higher the normalized illumination, the higher the point of light should be. The number and type of floodlights are also taken into account — the load on the upper platform depends on them.
