KZ flap valve

Draining gasoline and water accumulated in the storage tank after a spill, accident, or rain. Explosion-proof design, lid made of intrinsically safe alloy.

KZ flap valve
Description

Purpose and design

The flap is placed on a storage tank, where everything that has been spilled on the site drains: fuel in case of an accident or overflow and rainwater. The device is simple to the limit — a pipe with a hinged lid — and this is its meaning: there is nothing to refuse the mechanism at the moment when it is needed.

The structure consists of a pipe, a cover, a bracket, a flange, a gasket, a folding bolt and a flywheel. To drain the accumulated contents, unscrew the flywheel and flip back the lid; after draining, close the lid and fix it with a bolt. The lid is made of intrinsically safe aluminum alloys, the body is made of steel. Installation and maintenance are carried out only with intrinsically safe tools, and maintenance is prohibited during draining and filling operations.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

How does a flap differ from a bottom valve?
The bottom valve drains the supply water from the pit of the tank itself. The flap stands on the pad's storage unit and drains what has spilled out. The tasks are different, and both nodes are usually needed at the facility.
How do I choose a conditional pass?
According to the storage volume and the required drain speed. The range consists of three standard sizes — 80, 100 and 150 mm.
Why is the lid aluminum and the body steel?
The lid is the only movable part that rubs and can hit when opened. It is made of an intrinsically safe alloy to eliminate a spark in an explosive zone. The body is stationary, and strength is more important to it.
What can not be done during maintenance?
The valve must not be serviced during draining and filling operations in the tank, and it must not be operated with an ordinary tool, only with an intrinsically safe one.
