How is a steel gate valve better than a cast iron one?

Steel can withstand higher pressures and temperatures, is more resistant to water impacts and shock loads. Cast iron is cheaper, but it is limited by Ру16 and is not recommended for steam with high parameters.

What does "welding" mean?

This is a type of connection in which the gate valve is welded directly into the pipeline without flanges — it is used at high pressure (Ру40 and higher), where the flange connection is less reliable.

Do I need heat treatment after welding?

Yes, for valves of class 0 and higher, after welding into the pipeline, heat treatment of the weld is usually required — we will clarify the requirements for your project.
