Ориентировочно с Ду100 и выше усилие на маховике заметно растёт — для таких размеров чаще применяют клапаны/задвижки с редуктором, а вентили обычно используют до Ду100–150.

Можно ли использовать стальной вентиль для питьевой воды?

Технически можно, но для питьевой воды и пищевых сред чаще выбирают нержавеющие или латунные вентили — сталь без покрытия подвержена коррозии в контакте с водой.

How does a steel valve differ from a cast iron one?

Steel can withstand higher pressure and temperature, and is more resistant to water impacts. A cast-iron valve is cheaper, but is usually limited to 0 and is not recommended for steam with high parameters.

At what point does it become difficult to open the valve manually?

Approximately from Ду100 and above, the force on the flywheel increases noticeably — for such sizes, valves/valves with a gearbox are more often used, and valves are usually used up to Ду100-150.

Is it possible to use a steel valve for drinking water?

Technically it is possible, but stainless or brass valves are more often chosen for drinking water and food media — uncoated steel is susceptible to corrosion in contact with water.
