How does a polyethylene faucet differ from a metal one on a gas pipeline?

The PE crane is mounted directly into the body of a polyethylene pipe by butt welding — it does not require a metal-plastic transition, which reduces the number of connections and the risk of leaks on the underground gas pipeline.

What is an elongated stem and why is it needed?

When installing a crane underground, the stem is extended to the ground surface in order to operate the crane with a special key through a carpet (hatch) without digging up the pipeline.

Is it possible to repair a plastic faucet?

As a rule, PE cranes for gas pipelines are a non-removable structure for the entire service life (usually 50 years). In case of failure, the faucet is cut out and a new one is welded through the coupling.
