Why does the collar flange hold more pressure?

The conical collar smoothly distributes the load and is butt—welded to the pipe with one strong seam - it can withstand high pressures, temperatures and alternating loads.

Up to what pressure are they applied?

By ГОСТ 33259 — up to Ру160 (and higher in special versions).

What do the dimensions in the diagram mean?

D, K, d, n — as for a flat flange (outer diameter, circumference and bolt holes); b — thickness, h — height of the collar/collar.
